Uses: γ-butyrolactone is an important organic synthetic raw material and an excellent solvent. It can dissolve most insoluble polymer/resin. Mainly used in the synthesis of pyrrolidone series products, cyclopropylamine, acetyl-γ-butyrolactone and so on. In addition, γ-butyrolactone is also used in agricultural chemicals, polymers and dyes, solvents for printing, and extractants for petrochemicals. Using γ-butyrolactone as a raw material, it can also produce perfumes, pharmaceutical intermediates, rust removers, and the like. Γ-butyrolactone is a typical protic solvent with a pH of about 4.5, which can be used in closed-type dry cells and as an electrolyte in lithium batteries.
